Today & Tomorrow (Night Horde SoCal #2.5)By: Susan Fanetti
5/5 stars
I just finished the book and have tears streaming down my face & plenty of used Kleenex from drying my tears & blowing my nose throughout this novella. Susan Fanetti made me laugh, fall in love, sob and she ripped my guts out, but oh, how I love her.
Nolan Mariano has been on loan to the SoCal chapter of the Night Horde (from the Signal Bend chapter) since book 2, Shadow & Soul. He hasn’t felt like he deserved or earned the right to sit at Havoc’s place at the table in Signal Bend and was gaining true outlaw experience while in California. When he’s accomplished whatever he’s been searching for, he & Double A (also on loan from Signal Bend) will return to Missouri, to live & serve their club, at home.
Nolan volunteers to help Riley’s (Bart’s wife) actor friend’s daughter, who is suffering from terminal cancer. Analisa Winters has a Kick List of things she wants to do before she dies, and riding a Harley is one of those things. When Analisa shows up, she’s not at all what Nolan expected knowing that she was terminally sick. At the same time, Nolan isn’t what Analisa was expecting either, thinking that she would get some overweight, old biker as a teacher.
Nolan is on a journey of self-discovery and Analisa is trying to pack the rest of life’s experiences into the few months of life she has left. They didn’t set out to fall in love with each other, but it’s damn near impossible to control. Their hearts begin to beat for each other, and though their time is limited, they live it all to the fullest and spend as much time together as possible.
Don’t pass up this book because you’re afraid of getting your heart broke (because that will happen!), this book is worth the read many times over. Nolan has suffered much heartbreak starting with Havoc’s death, dealing with his mother’s downward spiral & helping raise his infant brother and just becoming a man without his father. But Nolan is a strong man & is strong enough to withstand his heart breaking again.
I think I read somewhere (possibly the Freak Circle Press website) that this is not the end for Nolan and that he will eventually get a full book. But I think this was an excellent way for the fans to see Nolan grow as a man at different times during his adult life.

Today Tomorrow The Night Horde SoCal edition by Susan Fanetti Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This is the sweetest story but its also sad. This is the short story of Nolan, son of Havoc and his falling in love with Analisa, the daughter of a movie star who is dying from cancer, she have bucket list and one of the things she wanted to do is learn to ride a motorcycle. Nolan volunteered to reach her. They start hanging out and in the short time they have together they fall in love. This book makes you appreciate the little things as this young couple works hard to make the last days of Analiss's life memorable. Most of the things she wants to do are pretty ordinary, and that's what makes their story special and heart warming, in the what most of us want us to be surrounded by love. That was the gift NOlan gave her. You will need some tissue to read this but it's a great book. I hope and pray that Nolan will get his own full length book where he gets to have his HEA!
"That's on my list, too, to fall in love, and it happened."
This book...
Can I get away with simply saying, I loved it?
Did it hurt? Hell yes.
Was it worth it? Of course.
In life, things rarely go as planned. Sometimes all you can hope for is experiencing heartache, because if anything, it's proof that you felt love. Reading the synopsis, I knew how this story would go, and I was scared. I was expecting it to be really depressing, and while it was sad, it had a much more positive message. This was truly a remarkable story.
"F you, cancer. You think you robbed me, but I kicked your ass and had everything I ever wanted anyway. You lose. I win."

I cried so much reading this beautiful and sad story, which for all its sadness had an uplifting message about the importance of family and living each day of one’s life to the fullest. In a way it is "Love Story" meets MC romance, but less corny. It’s book 2.5 (sort of a sidestep) of The Night Horde Southern California MC series, which is a sequel to the Signal Bend series. I would never have thought that MC romance was something I would enjoy, but now that I have discovered the gifted Susan Fanetti I am unable to stop. Even if her writing is labeled genre fiction, it has an elemental rawness, an unexpected profoundity to it. The stories are full of excitement, loss, violence, pain with little pockets of hope and deep and enduring love.
Nolan has appeared as a secondary character in previous books (and that’s were we learn about his sad and painful past), but nevertheless I think this novella is one that could be most easily read as a standalone (since it is less integrated into the overarching story arc of the series).
The hero Nolan Mariano is 25 but his past life has made him old beyond his years. His biological father abandoned him and his mother a long time ago and they always lived on the edge of poverty or beyond. In Signal Bend they found a family in The Night Horde MC and his mother the love of her life, Havoc, a badass biker, who was more of a father to Nolan than his biological one ever was. But Havoc got killed less than a year after they met him in a violent altercation with a Mexican drug cartel. Nolan is restless as he feels he cannot step into the footsteps of the father of his heart. So he is on loan as an enforcer to the Night Horde Southern California Charter which is a one percenter club (sometimes operating outside the law). He has killed several times and what upsets him is that he is not affected by the killing. So he has made vague plans to return to Signal Bend and that is when he meets Analisa…
The heroine Analisa Winter is the daughter of a famous Hollywood actor and she has been sick for a long time. After two years of remission her cancer is back worse than ever and there is no cure. So she decides to stop treatment and live the short time that she still has to the fullest. She has made a bucket list with all the things she wants to experience and one of her wishes is to learn to ride a Harley. As her father has a connection to the club, he asks them for help. Over the objections of his club brothers and friends (they want to spare him another terrible loss after he has already had so much loss in his life) Nolan volunteers to teach her, after all, he doesn’t know her and she means nothing to him. Then he meets her and is disgusted with himself for lusting after a dying girl…
Even though they are from completely different backgrounds they instantly connect. Analisa asks Nolan to help her with the rest of her bucket list and he agrees. They fall in love and Nolan manages to give her all her wishes in a way that couldn’t have been bought with money, but that let her experience what it means to love and be loved and have a family…
This is such a wonderful bittersweet story and it is not all sad. Analisa has such a positive attitude and she wants to be treated normal, which Nolan manages to a large degree. The ultimate loss and heart-break make their exiting and happy moments together all the more poignant.
